Easy Homemade Hot Honey Recipe - I Drizzle This On EVERYTHING!

hot honey in a spoon

This hot honey recipe is super easy to execute. Any dried spicy pepper will do for this recipe, my favorite is habaneros. You can go with chili de arbol, cayenne, ghost peppers, bird’s eye etc. Go spicy or mild, that is all up to you! I made some crispy oven baked chicken wings that this hot honey was amazing on! Click the button below for the video recipe.

Ingredients:

32 oz raw honey

4 dried habanero

2 tbsp white whine vinegar

1 tsp ground black pepper

Pinch salt

Tools needed:

Small stock pot

Measuring spoons

Cutting board

Sharp knife

Rubber gloves

Fine mesh strainer

Mixing bowl

Mason jar or other glass storage container

How to make it:

Wearing rubber gloves while cutting habaneros is highly recommended.

Pour all ingredients in a small stock pot.  Bring to a simmer and continue to simmer for 10 minutes.  Turn off heat, add pinch salt and let cool to room temperature.

Once cooled, strain the honey through the fine mesh strainer into a mixing bowl. Pour the strained hot honey into your storage container of choice. I like to use mason jars since they’re glass and won’t stain or hold odors.

This will keep in the refrigerator for about 1 month. I love to drizzle this on pizza, make a vinaigrette with it and pour onto some homemade cornbread.

Enjoy!
